Svartifoss (Black Fall) was written for and premiered by the Score Collective Ensemble in Amsterdam in the spring of 2016.
Inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Iceland's Vatnajökull National Park, Svartifoss takes its name from the stunning waterfall located in Skaftafell. Surrounded by dramatic dark lava columns, the waterfall's presence is evocative of the forces of nature that have shaped this unique landscape. Through music, Svartifoss brings to life the diverse scenes and moods of this natural wonder, capturing the majesty of the waterfall, the eerie beauty of the lava columns, and the surreal ambiance of the surrounding landscape.
